Borussia Dortmund announces preliminary results for the financial year 2008/2009

Despite of a difficult marketing environment in consequence of the
international financial crisis and an early elimination in the UEFA- and
DFB-Cup-Competition Borussia Dortmund could increase the revenues in the
financial year 2008/2009 (by EUR 2.6 Mio. to EUR 107.9 Mio. in the
individual financial statement and by EUR 1.7 Mio. to EUR 114.7 Mio. in the
Group financial statement).

In the preceding financial year (01.07.2008 - 30.06.2009) Borussia Dortmund
recorded earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) in an amount of EUR -0.1
Mio. (EUR 11.3 Mio. previous year) in the individual financial statement
and EUR -0.4 Mio. (previous year EUR 10.4 Mio.) in the Group financial
statement. The individual annual result amounted EUR -2.9 Mio. (previous
year EUR 5.3 Mio.) and the Group annual result amounted EUR -5.9 Mio.
(previous year EUR 0.3 Mio.). The deviation of the annual results in the
individual and the - according to International Financial Reporting
Standards (IFRS) determined - Group financial statement mainly resulted
from increased depreciations concerning the stadium which however did not
have an impact on liquidity.

The revenues of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA spread as follows: EUR
22.2 Mio. (previous year EUR 22.6 Mio.) Ticketing; EUR 22.4 Mio. (previous
year EUR 26.0 Mio.) TV-Rights; EUR 39.1 Mio. (previous year EUR 39.3 Mio.)
Sponsoring; EUR 11.5 Mio. (previous year EUR 5.4 Mio.) Transfers; EUR 12.7
Mio (previous year EUR 12.1 Mio.) Catering/Licences/ Merchandising etc. Due
to the distribution modus of the centrally marketed 'Bundesliga' TV-rights
by the DFL as well as the early elimination in the DFB-Cup-Competition
compared to the previous year TV-revenues decreased despite of a
significant improved final placement with the sixth place in the Bundesliga
season 2008/2009 as a consequence of a significant personnel reinforcement
of the team in the preceding financial year.

Other operating income of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA decreased from
EUR 8.6 Mio. by EUR 6.3 Mio. to EUR 2.3 Mio. which especially resulted from
the lapse of special items of the financial year 2007/2008, for example the
remuneration for players which appear in UEFA EURO 2008 or the sale of a
swap contract in the course of the Morgan Stanley credit loan redemption.

Total operating performance of the company reduced from EUR 114.1 Mio.
(previous year) by EUR 3.8 Mio. to EUR 110.3 Mio in the individual
financial statement.

Personnel expenses of the company in the individual financial statement
increased from EUR 42.5 Mio. by EUR 4.4 Mio. to EUR 46.9 Mio. due to the
personnel reinforcement of the team.

Depreciations increased as well due to the personnel reinforcement of the
team from EUR 8.6 Mio. by EUR 2.0 Mio. to EUR 10.6 Mio.

Compared to the previous year other operating expenses increased from EUR
51.6 Mio. by EUR 1.3 Mio. to EUR 52.9 Mio. The main contributory factors
were significant expensed book values related to player transfers.

The financial result of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA improved from EUR
-5.5 Mio. by EUR 2.7 Mio to EUR -2.8 Mio.
