Borussia Dortmund announces results of the third quarter 2008/2009

As a consequence of a more and more difficult market environment due to the
international financial crisis and the elimination in the round of sixteen
of the DFB-Cup Competition in January 2009 revenues developed regressive in
the individual financial statement (EUR -4.7 Mio.) as well as in the group
financial statement (EUR -5.3 Mio.) in the third quarter (01.01.2009 -
31.03.2009) of the fiscal year 2008/2009. The significantly improved
placement in the Bundesliga compared to the previous year and the - after
the opinion of the management - improved competitiveness in the Bundesliga
had no considerable impact on here.

Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA recorded Earnings before interest and
taxes (EBIT) in an amount of EUR -1.6 Mio. (previous year EUR 1.5 Mio.)
in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2008/2009. Earnings before taxes
(EBT) amounted EUR -2.4 Mio. (previous year EUR 0.3 Mio.) and the financial
result amounted EUR -2.5 Mio. (previous year EUR 0.2 Mio.) in the report
period.

According to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) the
Borussia Dortmund Group quarterly financial result amounted EUR -3.1 Mio.
(previous year EUR 0.07 Mio.) taking revenues in an amount of EUR 23.9 Mio.
(previous year EUR 29.1 Mio.) and gross revenues in amount of EUR 24.3 Mio.
(previous year EUR 29.5 Mio.) into consideration. Group Earnings before
interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) amounted EUR 2.6
Mio. (previous year EUR 5.7 Mio.), Group Earnings before interest and taxes
(EBIT) resulted in EUR -1.7 Mio. (previous year EUR 1.7 Mio.) in the report
period.
