Borussia Dortmund significantly improved its revenues in the first half of
the fiscal year 2008/2009 (01.07.2008 - 31.12.2008) compared to the
previous half-year (by EUR 11.8 Mio. or rather +26.9 % up to EUR 55.9 Mio.
in the single half-year statement and by EUR 10.2 Mio. or rather +20.4 % to
EUR 60.3 Mio. in the Group half-year statement). By means of a considerable
investment in the license team (EUR 15.0 Mio.) which was accompanied by an
increase of personnel expenses as well as depreciations and amortizations
the sporting competitiveness of Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga
improved sustainable in opinion of the management, even if the elimination
in the UEFA cup could not have been avoided in October 2008. As a result
of, the semi-annual result improved only marginally. Taking the further
elimination in the national DFB-Cup and the increasing difficult marketing
environment in consequence of the international financial crisis into
consideration the successful achievement of the objective of a balanced
annual financial result 2008/2009 becomes more and more demanding.

Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA recorded in the first half of the fiscal
year 2008/2009 (01.07.2008 - 31.12.2008) earnings before interest and taxes
(EBIT) in an amount of EUR -2.3 Mio. (previous half-year EUR -1.3).
Earnings before taxes (EBT) amounted EUR -3.4 Mio. (previous half-year EUR
-3.8 Mio.) and the financial result amounted EUR -3.5 Mio. (previous
half-year EUR -3.9 Mio.) in the report period.

According to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) the
Borussia Dortmund Group net loss amounted EUR -5.1 Mio. (previous half-year
EUR -5.9 Mio.) in the first half-year 2008/2009. Earnings before taxes,
interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted EUR 6.7 Mio.
(previous half-year EUR 6.6 Mio.). Group Earnings before taxes and interest
(EBIT) was EUR -2.3 Mio. (previous half-year EUR -1.3 Mio.). Group revenues
amounted EUR 60.3 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 50.1 Mio.). Personnel
expenses changed to EUR 26.5 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 21.0 Mio.).
Depreciation and amortization resulted in EUR 9.0 Mio. (previous half-year
EUR 7.9 Mio.). The other operating expenses amounted EUR 25.5 Mio.
(previous half-year EUR 20.2 Mio.) in the report period. The financial
result improved to EUR -2.7 Mio (previous half-year EUR -4.3 Mio.)
