The Executive Committee of the Advisory Board of Borussia Dortmund Geschäftsführungs-GmbH has prematurely extended the contract of the CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke. The contract that was due to expire on December 31st 2008 was extended by three years until December 31st 2011.
Hans-Joachim Watzke remains as hitherto chairman of the management and primarily responsible for companys' strategy and the business divisions 'sport', 'communication' and 'sponsoring'.
He is exempted from the restrictions of § 181 BGB (German Civil Code).
