Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA recorded in the first half of the fiscal year 2007/2008 (01.07.2007 - 31.12.2007) earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) in an amount of EUR -1.3 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 10.0 Mio). Earnings before taxes (EBT) amounted as well as the financial result EUR -3.9 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 8.2 Mio.) in the report period.
According to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) the Borussia Dortmund Group financial result amounted EUR -5.9 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 8.0 Mio.) in the first half-year 2007/2008. Earnings before taxes, interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted EUR 6.6 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 17.4 Mio.). Group Earnings before taxes and interest (EBIT) was EUR -1.3 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 10.7 Mio.). Group revenues amounted EUR 50.1 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 54.0 Mio.). Personnel expenses changed to EUR 21.0 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 18.6 Mio.). Depreciation and amortization resulted in EUR 7.9 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 6.6 Mio.). The other operating expenses amounted EUR 20.2 Mio. (previous half-year EUR 18.9 Mio.) in the report period.
Borussia Dortmund consistently continued its consolidation in the expired half-year and was able to reduce its financial debts by ordinary redemptions in an amount of EUR 2.8 Mio. as well as by extraordinary prepayments in an amount of EUR 5.0 Mio. Moreover, interest and similar expenses could be reduced from EUR 5.1 Mio. to EUR 4.8 Mio.
The deviations to the previous report period mainly result from less transfer revenues, the singular special item of the FIFA World Cup 2006 in the previous half year 2006/2007 and increased expenses for the license sports division.
